Welcome to Workroom

Everything you need to get productive in about 10 minutes. Workroom is the internal command center for Workroom — one workspace for issues, sprints, docs, chat, CRM, and time tracking.

Getting started

The app is at https://workroom.sbs. If you received an invite email, click the link and either sign in or create an account with the invited email. If you don't have an invite yet, ask Mitul to send you one.

Your first 5 minutes

  1. Press ⌘ K to open the command palette — this is the fastest way to get anywhere.
  2. Press ? to see the full shortcut cheat sheet.
  3. Hit G then P to jump to Projects. Click the project you work on.
  4. Click Board for kanban view, List for table view.
  5. Press C inside a project to create your first issue.

Keyboard shortcuts

Workroom is built for keyboard navigation. Learn these and you'll never touch the mouse.

Working with issues

Creating

Go to a project, press C or click New Issue. Issues are auto-numbered per project — the first issue in SportOS is SOS-1, next is SOS-2, etc.

Statuses

  • Backlog — not yet prioritized
  • Todo — planned, not started
  • In Progress — actively being worked on
  • In Review — PR or design review
  • Done — shipped
  • Cancelled — won't do

Kanban board

Go to a project → Board. Drag cards between columns. Changes save instantly.

Sprints

Sprints are 1–2 week plans with a goal and a set of issues.

  1. Project → SprintsNew Sprint
  2. Add a goal, start date, end date.
  3. Drag issues into the sprint.
  4. Click Start Sprint when ready.
  5. Click Complete Sprint at the end. Incomplete issues roll back to backlog.

Documents

Go to Documents (G O). Tree view on the left, content on the right. Every save creates a version — you can restore any old one. Use docs for architecture decisions, onboarding guides, meeting notes you want to find later, API specs, runbooks, release checklists.

Chat

Go to Chat (G C). Channels on the left: #general, #engineering, #design, #random, #announcements. Click a channel, type a message, press Enter. Edit or delete your own messages via the hover menu.

CRM

Go to CRM (G R). Track contacts, leads, and deals through stages: Discovery → Proposal → Negotiation → Closed Won / Closed Lost. Use it for client/investor pipeline, not for internal work.

Time tracking

Go to Time Tracking (G T). Log hours against any issue. See summaries by user, project, or date range.

Inviting teammates

  1. Settings → Members (G S, then click Members).
  2. Click Invite Member.
  3. Enter email, pick a role (Admin/Member/Viewer), optionally a department.
  4. Click Send Invite. They'll get an email with an accept link.
  5. Pending invitations show below the members list and can be revoked.

Roles

  • Owner — full control, cannot be removed
  • Admin — manage members, projects, settings
  • Member — create/edit issues, docs, chat
  • Viewer — read-only

Tips for being effective

  • Search everything with ⌘K. Projects, issues, docs, settings — all one keystroke away.
  • Use labels (feature, bug, tech-debt) to filter issues across projects.
  • Write good issue titles. "Fix bug" is useless. "Kanban card crashes when dragging completed issue" is useful.
  • Assign issues immediately. Unassigned issues tend to become invisible.
  • Close stale issues. If it's sat in Backlog for 3 months and no one cares, move it to Cancelled.

Welcome to the team. Workroom is built for us, by us. If something feels clunky, tell Mitul — it'll probably be fixed in a day.
